The Under 18s had a good win against Glenelg on Saturday, winning a tight tussle by 10 points.
The Tigers started strongly and had the first 2 goals of the match before we steadied with a couple of our own and we took a 7 pointlead into quarter time. A bright start to the second quarter saw us extend the lead points before Glenelg again hit back with a couple and it was 17 point margin at half time
Glenelg took hold of the third quarter and won the quarter on the back of some good midfield and forward work and with the margin reduced to just 3 points at three quarter time it really was a game up for grabs.
The players responded very well and kicked the first 3 goals of the quarter and were able to close out the game.
We had a number of good players Brody Mair was a very good ball winning player all day for us and similarly Tarik Sauer was a tower of strength in our defence. Jordan Tilbrook, Tom Luck (2 goals) and Harry Dodd were good midfield contributors and Zac Schwarz played well, especially late. Tyler Welsh (3 goals), Pat Toole (2 goals) Izaac Niemann (2 goals) and Kane Elliot-Karpany (2 goas) were lively forwards.
This week Brayden Phillips played his first game of Under 18 footy and did some very good things for us.
On Sunday we play West Adelaide at home from 3.15pm before our double bye so we are looking for a strong performance.
