Vale Matthew Rendell

Very sad news that former West Torrens player Matthew Rendell has passed away, aged 64.

Matt played 79 games for the Eagles from 1977-1980, before heading over to Victoria and playing 164 games for the Fitzroy Lions (Captain 1984-87, Club Champion 1982/83). He finished his playing career at the Brisbane Bears with a further 13 games in 1992. Rendell was All-Australian in 1983 & 1987.

Of course, Matthew went on to be a very successful AFL recruiter.
