The Under 18s had a good win against Sturt at Maughan Thiem KIA Oval on Saturday. The game was a very even contest early with Sturt leading entering the final 5 minutes of the quarter but we hit back with 2 late goals to take a 6 point advantage into quarter time. We played really well in the second quarter kicking 5 goals whilst restricting the Blues to just the one and from then on we controlled the game and won in the end by 40 points, 17 goals 5 points to Sturt’s 10 goals 7 points. Once again it was a very even team effort and we had a lot of contributors, with Lachie Jones playing a very good game in defence, Indiana Dorian on debut, played a fine game in the ruck, and he provided excellent support to our midfielders Lochie Hoile, Harry Schoenberg, Zane Williams and Luke Beecken who all continued their good form from Round 1. Caleb Smith did another fine defensive job for us and Josh Morris (5 goals) and Luke Barnett (3 goals) were dangerous forwards. This week we were able to debut four more players – along with Indiana, Miller Carter, Zac Phillips and Zeke Scott played their first games of Under 18 footy and all made contributions to the team and the result.
This week we have a Sunday game at home, taking on the undefeated Tigers from 1.15 pm.
