The Under 18s had a good win against Glenelg on Saturday, winning 17 goals 6 points to 7 goals 10 points, a margin of 56 points. The Tigers started a lot better than us and had a couple of goals on the board before we hit the scoreboard.
Fortunately for us we were accurate, kicking 3 straight goals whilst Glenelg were offline, kicking 2 goals 7points to take a one point lead into quarter time. We responded well in the second quarter kicking 6 goals 3 points whilst holding the Bays to just the 2 goals. We continued to play well in the second half to run out comfortable winners.
A number of players commenced their College seasons this week so we had a few outs but we welcomed back in to the team the players who had played in the State trial the weekend before. We had a number of good players and Harry Schoenberg battled hard in the midfield and was lively and physical all game.
Luke Beecken did well with his 3 goals and 3 goal assists, Aidan Lock was really tough inside the contest and used the ball well, Zane Williams was another good midfielder, Josh Morris did well up forward with another 6 goals, Nathan Francis and Caleb Smith were both very strong in our defence, and Henry Smith battled well in ruck.
We have the bye like everyone else this week and we then look forward to taking on the Redlegs in an early game on May 18 at home.
