Eagles 4.8 (32) def by Glenelg 16.9 (105)
Goal scorers: Ueding, Redpath, Hendry, McCann
Best Players: Burgoyne, Adams, D’Aloia, Watson, Neumann, Ueding
Our game this week was important in the fact that if the lads wanted to get some reward out of the program and progress to play finals footy a good performance was a must.Full credit to Glenelg who were in a similar situation and they came out with greater intent than our lads were able to offer. Glenelg Kicking 5 goals in the opening term to our no score was going to be hard work to get back in the game.
To our lads credit we hung in there and at times showed glimpses of our good form, but our ability to defend was again lack lustre. By half time Glenelg extended the margin to 45 points.
Whilst we restricted Glenelg’s scoring in the second half, we were unable to kick goals ourselves, therefore Glenelg went on to win by 73 points.
Individual goal kickers in Lachlan Hendry, Oscar McCann, Cody Redpath & Liam Ueding. With our better players being Jase Burgoyne, Charlie Adams, Adam D’Aloia, Jay Watson, Will Neumann & Liam Ueding.
This week we look forward to taking on West Adelaide at City Mazda who are undefeated and win back some pride in our performance from the week before.
