After Another thrilling win the previous week against South with a Goal kicked after the siren and second spot up for grabs the lads were keen to take up the challenge against North Adelaide.
In slippery conditions North took the lead at the first break by 4 points. During the second North continued to use the ball more efficiently than we did & opened up a 12 point lead at the main break.
All season our 16’s Team have shown some resilience and have the ability to work hard, compete and remain in the game & our second half this week was again an indicator of that. By three quarter time the margin was only 5 points and the last set up again to be a close one.
Early in the last we registered a goal to take the lead by a point, North Adelaide responded with the next 2 goals and opened up a 12 point lead half way thru the last, credit to our players who never gave in & were able to kick the last 2 majors of the game, but North were able to hold on to win by a point.
With 6 more scoring shots & 17 more inside 50’s than us North were probably the better team on the day, but all credit to our lads who kept on fighting and almost pinched the 2 points. Our more consistent players included, Adam D’Aloia who kicked 2 goals, Dylan Branford, Will Neumann & Charlie Adams in the midfield along with Ryan Williams & Liam Ueding who were talls that battled hard throughout the game.
With 3 more debutants against North and 36 players having the opportunity to show case their talents at SANFL level we look forward to taking on Sturt this week on our home ground for the first time this year.
