After a good win against Centrals in the opening Round, five new players got the opportunity to showcase their talents at this level against Norwood.
After a good start and kicking the first 2 goals, Norwood responded and we held onto a 1 goal lead at the first break. In a see sawing second quarter in which Norwood took the lead on 2 occasion’s we responded with a late goal and held a 6 point buffer at Half Time.
The game was quite an intensive one with both sides applying good pressure around the contest we just had to be a bit more efficient when entering our forward line. By midway thru the third quarter we were 10 points up, however to Norwood’s credit they kicked a late goal & the difference was 4 points at the three quarter time break.
The last quarter was set up to be close one, we kicked the first one of the last then Norwood responded with 2 quick ones to take a 2 point lead at the 15 minute mark, the game was in the balance with both teams scoring a major each, however when the final siren blew the scores were tied.
With both teams on 9 goals 15 points, Oscar McCann & Will Pearce kicked 3 each whilst singles to Charlie Blair, Brayden Calvett & Jay Watson. Our better performers for the day were Jack Murphy & Lachlan Hendry down back, whilst Callum Pitman, Sam Nicholls & Ryan Williams performed well throughout the four quarters..
We venture down to Noarlunga this week to take on South Adelaide.
