After a disappointing loss to Glenelg the week before, we came up against West Adelaide who were the only undefeated team of the competition.
Whilst still a slim chance in making the finals we had to win by a good margin and rely on other games to go our way.
Again we struggled to pick up the tempo of the game from the start and found ourselves behind by 13 points at quarter time and 18 points at half time. We felt like we were getting enough of the ball however we couldn’t hit a player with our last kick inside 50.
Our third quarter was much more productive in kicking 4 goals to Westie’s 2. We continued our good work and kicked 4 goals 5 for the last while Westie’s managed 2 goals 1. It was a good effort after half time and whilst not quite enough to earn a finals berth the players finished off on a positive note.
8 Goal kickers with Jay Watson kicking 3, Pat Fry & Charlie Hoile kicking 2 each. Whilst everyone did their bit, Liam Ueding, Jay Watson, Adam D’Aloia, Sam Nicholls , Will Neumann & Charlie Adams performed well throughout the whole game.
In closing I would like to thank all the players & parents for their commitment to the program along with our U16 Staff in Tony Calio, Paul Sheldon, Todd Clarke, Kym Markwick, James Schmusch, Aaron Redman as well as our support staff in Kym Matthew, Dave Heyneman, Lachie Hall, John Good, Phil Herraman and Jamie Lisk,
