The Under 18s had a good win against Glenelg on Saturday, playing four strong quarters of footy and winning 18 goals 19 points to the Tiger’s 5 goals 4 points. We started well although a little inaccurately, kicking 3 goals 6 points in the opening quarter but a hard working second quarter where we kicked 6 goals and held Glenelg goalless, helped set up the game for us. After half time Glenelg opened the third term strongly with 3 quick goals, but we were able to respond and eventually kicked away to a comfortable margin.
Taj Schofield was a prolific ball winner through the midfield and resting forward and Jacob Gooden was a lively forward kicking 4 goals, Jase Burgoyne and Max Litster were both strong around stoppages and helped put us into attack, Zac Phillips won plenty of the ball and was a threat up forward with 2 goals and Brock Thompson played well again in our defence.
This week we were able to debut another two players in Nick Mitzithras and Karl Binka and both did well in their first games, playing their roles well.
The win keeps us in contention for finals but we need to continue our good form this Saturday as we take on West Adelaide at Coopers’ Stadium from 1.30pm.
