U16’s Match Report – Round 2

After a Four point loss in round one the 16’s were ready to take on Norwood this week in our first home game of the season.

In warm but very good conditions we got off to a good start and kicked 5 goals 3pts to Norwood’s 2 goals in the first quarter. Norwood offered some challenges in the second but we managed to outscore them by 2 points and held onto a 23 point lead at half time.

To Norwood’s credit and unfortunately for us our third quarter was probably the worst performance for the year thus far with Norwood kicking 5 goals 6 to our 1 goal 3pts. Our lack of defensive pressure & ability to work hard both ways was very similar to the first half of round one against West Adelaide an area we need to really focus on.

Whilst the lads battled on in the last quarter, Norwood were too good and went on to win by 16 points.

The positives are is that we won a half of footy and we know what works however that consistency across the four quarters needs to be better. Our better players include Zane Peucker, Jack Cook, Owen Hartley Brown, Hayden Willmott & Lachie Sands. With 7 Goalkickers, 2 each to Brock Jamieson, Owen Hartley Brown & Lachie Sands, singles to Noah AhChee, Will Rayner, Logan Hughes & Jevan Phillipou.

This week we take on South Adelaide at Home on Good Friday.
