U16’s Match Report – Round 16

In what was slippery conditions and a less than adequate start, Sturt controlled the first quarter to lead by 26 points.

To our lad’s credit they showed some character throughout the game and gradually reduced the margin each quarter with going into the last quarter only 9 points behind. Kicking 3 goals 3 points to Sturts 3 points in the last quarter we controlled the game after quarter time and went on to win by 9 points.

3 Goals to Jackson Pinfield & Tyler Welsh, 2 to Jett Hasting and 1 to Josh Thompson. With the whole team lifting its work rate after quarter time, we were well served by Tom Luck, Jett Hasting, Kade Herbert, Tyler Welsh, Lachie Lucas and Ray Sumner. It was also pleasing to see Alex Daly play his first game for the year after a long term injury.

This week we take on Sturt again at Wigan Oval and hopefully look forward to a four quarter performance.
