U16’s Match Report – Preliminary Final

The Under 16’s took on South Adelaide this week in the Preliminary Final at Thebarton Oval.

South Adelaide began well and opened up a 2 Goal lead half way thru the first quarter, to our guys credit we steadied and kicked the last couple of Goals in the quarter to take a 4 point lead at quarter time.

The second quarter again was a tight tussle with South kicking 2 Goals 2 points and ourselves kicking 3 goals 4 to take a lead of 12 points going into the main break.

The third quarter came and saw both teams registering 18 points. In which we were able to hold a margin of 12 points going into the last quarter. To South’s credit they came strongly at us in the last, kicking 2 goals 4pts to our 1 goal 5pts in which we were able to hang on to win by 7 points.

The players fought the game out well and whilst we had many contributors, our midfield was good in their ability to win the ball and place it in our forward half. Tom Luck in Ruck, Brodie Harris at Centre Half Back, Kade Herbert, Zac Schwarz, Jett Hasting thru the Midfield and Isaac Edwards up Forward were very good players across the four quarters for us

Whilst Goals were a little more difficult this week with Isaac Edwards kicking 3, Zane Peucker & Tyler Welsh 2 each and singles to Declan Walshaw & Zac Schwarz.

Now we Look forward to Playing in the Grand Final on Adelaide Oval this Friday evening against Glenelg
