U16’s Match Report – First Semi Final

The Under 16’s took on North Adelaide this week in a knock out Semi Final at Norwood Oval.

North Adelaide began well and opened up a 9 point lead at quartertime, which was probably aided by a little bit of inaccurate kicking on our behalf by kicking 2 goals 4points.

The second quarter was more of an efficient one with our ball winning thru the midfield & back half was complimented by better use in our forward 50, kicking 5 goals 2 points to North Adelaide’s 2 goals. Going into half time with an 11 point advantage.

Our third quarter similar to the second in relation to players playing for the Team, winning the ball and using it better whilst in our forward half. In which we were able to open up an advantage of 27 points.

Our form continued throughout the last quarter and we went on to win by 56 points. Therefore advancing to a Preliminary Final.

With 7 goals Tyler Welsh provided a target up forward, Thru the Ruck Tom Luck provided opportunities to our Midfield Kade Herbert, Lachie Lucas & Jett Hasting, whilst Brodie Harris was good at Centre Half Back in denying North’s Forwards marking opportunities.

In what was a good Team performance all over the ground everyone did their bit for the Team which included having Eight players hitting the score board, Welsh 7, 2 Each to Brayden Phillips & Isaac Edwards and singles to Lachie Sands, Jack Cook, Declan Walshaw, Zane Peucker & Lachie Lucas.

We look forward to the challenge on taking on South Adelaide this week in the Preliminary Final at Thebarton Oval.
