Consistency has been our battle in season 2019 and round 18 was a disappointing way to end the year. We lost contested possessions by 34 which generates 34 more opportunities for the opposition to chain the ball to goal and eventually resulted in a 13 point loss. We still were able to create 49 inside 50’s for the game which means our ball movement from defensive half is very good. Our final kick inside 50 continued to let us down and North Adelaide were able to take multiple intercept marks and rebound.

Jack Hayes continued to have a dominant game and finished off the year strongly, Scott Lewis in his final game was able to hold his head up high with strong game leading by his effort and actions.

We were struck with injury once again with Nick Moore leaving the field early in the game with concussion, Toumpas and Ben Nason both had issues during the game making it difficult to last the full 4 quarters of the game.

With a disappointing season we’ve had some good little wins along the way. The brand of football we wish to play consistently was on show in round 11 vs Norwood,  19 year old’s James Rowe, Nick Moore, Cooper Gaffney & Jake Weidemann have all had a successful year. Jack Hayes & Jordan Foote have been exceptional for the entire season.

Our Reserves and U/18’s are both entering a finals campaign this weekend and we’d love to see you all at Unley and Woodville. It’s an exciting time for the youth of our club, both teams have a number of young talented players on display.
