After some narrow losses in previous weeks we were looking to get back in the winners circle with a strong 4 quarter performance.
The first 10 minutes of the game we started slowly with Glenelg having most of the play and registering the first 2 goals of the match. We were able to arrest the momentum late in the quarter kicking 3 straight goals to take in a slight lead at quarter time. The second quarter we continued to be efficient in front of the big sticks kicking 4.1 to Glenelg’s 2.2 giving us a 10 point half time lead. While we weren’t playing exactly how we wanted to we hoped
Unfortunately after half time the boys put in one of the more disappointing half’s of football in some time. Glenelg were able to pile on 6 goals to 2 and run out winners by just over 2 goals. In recent weeks we have gone away from the style of football we played in the early parts of the season and haven’t been able to do the basics well.
We will be certainly addressing these issues during the week and we look forward to responding next Saturday at Noarlunga.
