This week we seen a significant improvement across all facits of the game and it was pleasing to achieve this over 4 quarters.

Our squads training standards over the past 6 weeks have been exceptional, despite the losses the group has been very clear as a team in the direction which we’re heading. This weeks results are a positive one for the enitre group to feel and achieve the brand of footy that we wish to play. In offense we were able to achieve 31 scoring shots which shows strong signs of a team that can move the ball fast by hand or foot and break the oppositions defensive mechanisims. In Defence we held the opposition to 39 inside 50 which allowed us to squeeze the game up when we didn’t have control of the ball. We will continue to work on our effeicency at goal.

The first half was an arm wrestle with Norwood taking the lead at half time due to their ability to score from kick ins. We had an advantage scoring from stoppage and the trend was becoming greater as the game continued. This was something we focused on after half time which allowed us to hit the lead and apply significant pressure. The 4th quarter we went inside forward 50m 19 times to the oppositions 5.

Jarred Redden dominated clearances finishing with a game high of 10 and fan favourite Jordan Foote was right behind him with 9. Jordan had continued to improve his game and was able to hit the scoreboard with 2 early goals to set the tone for the day.

Jack Firns flourished with his tagging role on Lewis Johnston keeping him to just 7 disposals after half time whilst Jack finished with 18 of his own possessions.

Petrenko, Goldsworthy, Sharrad all had critical impacting moments on the game which was great to see from 3 of our leadership group members.

Nick Moore debuted and didn’t look out of place hitting the scoreboard with his first goal in league football. Moore, James Rowe & Cooper Gaffney are all exciting young players currently impacting at league level.

Our appitite to compete at the contest was very good all day, we won contested football by 22 and clearances by 16.

This week we head in to another bye week which will allows us to spend time providing the tools and support the palyers require to continue moving forward.

Last weeks win is now behind us and we set our focus to South Adelaide in 11 days time.

We’d love to see all members and supporters get behind both teams on the 1st of June.
