After a tough game against North Adelaide the week off came at a great time for our group. Saturday we headed down to Flinders University Stadium to take on South Adelaide.
The 6pm start certainly helped after what had been a hot day for footy. Throughout the game we were able to keep the ball locked away in our forward 50 for large parts of quarters allowing us to put scoreboard pressure on South Adelaide. Amber Elvin was excellent on the wing building on her form each week. Klaudia O’Neill came back into the side from her league debut and was extremely dangerous up forward finishing with 3 goals. Grace Martin also came back into the side and spent more time playing on the ball and was fantastic around the contest. We were able to restrict South Adelaide’s scoring ability with our backline holding up extremely well led by Georgie Blades and Lili Gambranis.
We had strong contributors across the board, which was very pleasing as a coach to see everyone playing their role for the team to help us walk away with a 25 point win. It has been a fantastic competition, the development league in its first season and we look forward to finishing off this weekend against Central District at X Convenience Oval starting at 2:45pm. We hope to see the Eagles faithful down there for our final game.
