Our game against last years premiers, Glenelg; saw us get up and take the win by 20 points on Saturday.
Glenelg jumped us a little early, having a fair bit of the footy in the first part and applying quite a bit of pressure to us.
Our second half saw us open up more defensively. Evolving our game to stop the game a little and put it back onto our terms; which is something we’ll put more practice going into round 6 against Centrals.
Having Lonergan, Thompson and Goldsworthy off injured; Sheedy debuted Kai Pudney in Goldy’s absence, being the 7th debutant of the year. Jack Firns also joined the league side for the first time this season, playing a key role up forward for us.
Jackson Lee was also played on the wing for a little bit; which will help him evolve as a player going forward.
Round 6 sees us play against Centrals back at our home ground. Jesse Lonergan looks to be coming back in for Round 6, he’s a great leader and sets the on ball up; playing an important role both on and off the field.
