Coming off a strong win in round 2 we came in to Friday’s clash against Norwood full of confidence. It was an arm wrestle style of game, our 4 minor scores in the first quarter coming back to haunt us as we filled the point side of the ledger instead of hurting our opposition with majors. The home side used the breeze efficiently kicking 3 in Q2 and had us against the ropes heading in to half time. To the groups credit, we got ourselves back in the match and had our chances to challenge for the win in the second half but couldn’t convert. The numbers were close all over the ground with Norwood being stronger around stoppage with +13 clearance but pleasingly we still topped the I50 by +10 which can be attributed to the solid performance of our backline. I am proud of our groups effort to get back in the match, as a coaching group we felt satisfied with our performance but will continue to help this group to reach their full potential to take the next step and put sides away on the back of their hard work.
We now prepare to take on the reigning premiers in Glenelg in round 4 and look forward to the challenge.
