The Under 18s played North Adelaide at Prospect Oval this week, going down by 36 points. The Roosters got control of the game early with their quick ball movement creating scoring opportunities and they led at every break. It was pleasing to see that we played out the game better this week winning the last quarter and kicking 5 goals to give us some real momentum into this week’s game. We were able to pressure better this week and created some better scoring opportunities ourself.
Adam D’Aloia and Mattaes Phillipou were very good players for us winning a lot of the footy in the midfield and creating scoring opportunities. Jonte Hunter-Price did well in his ruck battle and Nathan Barkla and Brody Mair also worked hard in the middle with Liam Modystach who played very well as a defender for us all day. In my match report last week I was remiss not to acknowledge the players who played their first games of Under 18 footy: Jordan Tilbrook, Shay Whelan, Josh Winston, Izaac Niemann, Riley Davey, Addison Dohnt, Wil McKay, Oscar Pearce, Callum Fairall, Ryan Johnson, Liam Modystach, James Ellis, Griff Hansen and Zane Geue. This week we were pleased to debut Joel Bertelsmeier, Tyson Whyte and Jedd Thomson who all did well.
We are looking forward to this week’s challenge against Norwood on Saturday morning with our first home game.
