Our Father’s Day clash saw us back at home against North Adelaide in a top of the table clash.
It was perfect weather for footy, with a slight southerly wind. Our ball movement and forward entry in the first quarter saw us get some good looks at goals; however all without converting. North were winning around the stoppage and when into quarter time 2 goals up. At quarter time, we discussed our ball movement with the wind and our ability to get some good forward entries; which saw us finishing the second quarter 2 goals up.
Our ability in the second half to win it at the stoppage and play the game in our forward half allowed us to defend our half of the ground and get repeat entries. I was pleased with the boys 4 quarter effort with the ability to defend and attack in what was a warmer than usual September clash.
Stand out players for the day were Jack Hayes, coming back from a shoulder injury he proved his importance in our forward line and ruck, scoring 3 goals for us. Other stand outs from the game were James Tsitas on the wing, Joey Sinor and Jimmy Toumpas as mids, and Jacob Wehr and Rhyan Mansell running off half back and providing us with drive.
We are looking forward to taking on an in form Glenelg on Saturday, for what will be our last home game of the season.
