The Under 18s had a disappointing opening game to our season with a heavy loss to Glenelg on Saturday by 110 points.
The first quarter was relatively even with our four shots on goal only registering 2 goals and we were trailing by 11 points at the break.
Glenelg really took a hold of the game in the second quarter and continued in that vain for the entire game. Their run and ball use was superior to ours and we were never really in the contest.
We didn’t have a lot of winners but Adam D’Aloia, Mattaes Phillipou along with Jordan Tilbrook (3 goals) and Nathan Barkla toiled hard in our midfield and Riley Davey was a consistent performer on the wing.
Although it was disappointing way to start, I know we are a better team than what we showed on Saturday and we will be working hard this week to put on a much better performance on Sunday as we take on the Roosters at Prospect Oval from 10.00am.
