Round 1 U16’s Match Report

After Trials against North, Norwood & South Adelaide and with what is going to be a full season of Under 16’s, the players were keen to put a good foot forward against Glenelg in Round One.

In what was a good standard of footy & warm conditions, the first quarter was tight in which we held a one point lead going into the second quarter, which proved to be our best quarter for the game, kicking 5 goals 3 points to Glenelg’s 1 goal 3, to lead by 25 points at the half time break.

In a tight second half, it was pleasing to see the players play the game right out to the end. Both teams kicked 4 goals 7 points in the second half and we went on to win by that half time margin of 25 points. 12 goals 12 to 8 goals 11 points.

In a solid team performance, 9 players contributed to the scoreboard with Tom Luck, Harry Dodd & Dominic Parisi kicking 2 each. Whilst Jett Hasting playing Midfield & back, Charlie West – Ruck, Tyler Welsh at Centre Halfback, along with Zac Schwarz, Tom Luck & Dominic Parisi all had a good game.

This week we take on North Adelaide at Prospect on the Sunday.
