Saturday was a great opportunity for our reserves team to bounce back after a narrow loss the previous week. We were able to make a quick start with two early goals to Sam Michael and kept the pressure on to take a 5 goal to 1 lead at quarter time. The players were able to maintain dominance in the second quarter building our lead to over 50 points. Across the field we were applying high levels of pressure to Glenelg and our defenders were in strong form rebounding most entries. Our ball movement returned to a much higher level and we were able to find marking targets inside the forward 50. The second half was more of an arm wrestle as both sides were unable to take full control of the footy. The effort from the players was fantastic but we recognize there is still plenty of improvement left and this will be a driving factor as we prepare for West Adelaide next Friday night. Better players for the day were Nick Moore who was a strong link between the arcs and allied string forward pressure. Jordan West and Sam Michael combined really well in the ruck and also for 5 goals up forward. Lachlan Hoile continued a good run of form and Connor McLeod, Ryan Bruce and Tom Schmusch were key to our strength down back. Tristan Carcuro was a highlight up forward kicking 5 goals. Congratulations again to Jade and the league side on another fantastic win. We hope to see as many supporters as possible next Friday at West Adelaide.
