The Statewide Super Women’s League will be showcased at Adelaide Oval for the first time with an Easter Saturday quadruple-header headlining the 2021 season fixture.
Starting at 10.30am on April 3, all eight SANFLW teams will play in the four matches scheduled in succession at the State’s elite venue in Round 6.
SANFL General Manager Football, Matt Duldig, said the unique programming was a positive initiative for SANFL’s female footballers.
”It was fantastic for our male SANFL players to play at Adelaide Oval during last year’s minor round, so to have a full day of Statewide Super Women’s League matches at the home of SA footy this season is equally exciting,” Duldig said.
‘’It will be just the third time an official female football game has been played at Adelaide Oval, following Adelaide’s AFLW Grand Final and Preliminary Final victories in 2019.
”Not only is such an historic occasion a wonderful opportunity to showcase the competition but the girls also receive a memorable experience as they too aspire to play at AFLW level.”
