After a Two week break we were looking forward to taking on South Adelaide at Noarlunga.
Zac Holdsworth made his debut in conditions that were a little unstable under foot and faoured the team that wanted to win the contest.
We began well but wasted some opportunities going forward in kicking 1 goal 5 with 15 entries to South Adelaide’s 1 goal 3. The second quarter again was a tight tussle in which we managed 3 goals 5 to Souths 3 goals 1 point.
With a 6 point advantage at Half Time we had to continue to win the contest and make better decisions with the ball. South started to win a bit more of the footy during the later part of the third and opened up a 2 point lead at three quarter time. We began well in the last and got out to an 8 point lead around half way thru the last, but to South’s credit they fought back and we didn’t work as hard as what we had been and South kicked 3 unanswered goals to go on to win by 10 points.
Goal kickers include, Zac Holdsworth 2, James Chalubek, Zane Peucker, Jevan Phillipou, Freddie Wilson & Nathan Kovacic 1 each. Our better players were James McGorman down back, Jamie Russell Swansson on the wing, Freddie Wilson up Forward, Jack Mumford down back and Zane Peucker & Jevan Phillipou in the midfield.
This week we take on Central Districts at X Convenience Oval as we wish Jack Cook, Logan Hughes, Brock Jamieson, & Lachie Sands all the best for the Games 2 & 3 of the U16 Nationals as they fly to the Gold Coast to take on Vic Country & Metro.
