Round 2 Women’s Development Match Report

We were back at Hisense Stadium to take on West Adelaide Friday Night.

We kicked to the northern end in the first quarter which had a favourable breeze throughout the match. Early our pressure around the contest and ability to continue to drive the ball forward was fantastic led by Audrey Holt who showed fantastic intent throughout the game. Isabella Benedictson, who came in late as the emergency, made the most of her opportunity with 3 contested marks in the space of 6 minutes in the first quarter to help us rebound the ball off our half backline. Our back 6 were outstanding one on one not allowing West Adelaide any easy ball inside our defensive 50. As a group the team had worked extremely hard to have enough of a lead going into the last quarter knowing that West Adelaide had the breeze. Every player on the field was cracking in giving it their all but we unfortunately went down by 5 points to the Bloods.
