This week in the Reserves we were able to debut another 3 players into the senior playing group with Zac Buck, Mishai Wollogorang and Jordan Kasianowicz. On a windy day, it’s always unfortunate to lose the toss and kick into it but I thought we competed strongly and were able to generate enough scoring opportunities, but we couldn’t capitalise on our good work.
I felt that Glenelg defended the game better than us when playing into the wind and we also need to continue to work on our skill execution under strong pressure.
We had opportunities to hit the lead throughout the game but just couldn’t quite take them and full credit to Glenelg as they were better in these moments.
This is a great learning opportunity for this new group, and they will take a lot out of this. There are 11 new players for 2021 in this team who are all eager to learn and improve which is a great sign for our Football Club. Close encounters like this one will aid in their development and all players will put their best foot forward on the track this week to reach a positive result on the scoreboard against South Adelaide.
We will still be playing in our usual timeslot of 11.20 before the league team takes on Adelaide in the afternoon.
We hope to see as many people as possible this week for this match as we turn pink for ladies day, continuing to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Make sure you’re there to join the fight at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
