The Under 18s finished off our minor round with a good win against Central District on Saturday. We started well doing all the attacking and kicking the first 3 scores of the quarter but unfortunately they were all points and then Centrals took control of the game and kicked 3 goals to take a 21 point lead into quarter time. When the Bulldogs kicked out to a 28 point lead early in the second quarter we knew we had to respond and we did kicking 5 goals in that quarter to go into half time with a 1 point lead. Kicking into a solid breeze in the third we played our best footy of the match and kicked 5 goals whilst holding the Dogs to just one and then finished off the game with a 6 goal last quarter to win by 45 points.
We had some good players across the 4 quarters and Taj Schofield, Caleb Poulter and Harry Dawkins back in the team after their Reserves experience played well in our midfield along with the ever reliable Jase Burgoyne and Max Litster, Jordan Kasianowicz was a lively forward with 4 goals and Brock Thomson played very well in our defence.
With the win, we qualified for finals and will play South Adelaide on Saturday in a First Semi Final at Thebarton Oval from 11.00am. Everyone is looking forward to being part of the Finals action and we wish all the best to the Reserves and Seniors teams for their Finals campaigns as well.
