The win on the weekend against West Adelaide completed an undefeated first half to the season. This is a tremendous effort by the reserves players as the constant high performance of the team is demonstrating the drive of the players this year as they continue to work hard. We went into the game expecting a strong competition against West Adelaide. They presented this early but our players were switched on from the start and dominating all the key stats but weren’t putting it on the scoreboard as we missed a few shots. At the back end of the quarter we started to improve with Sam Micheal kicking two goals as we took a 30 point lead into quarter time. We were able to continue building this lead throughout the second and third quarters to hold a 57 point lead at three quarter time. We had many good players across the ground and the message at three quarter time was to keep pushing and not let up. Pleasingly the players were able to produce one of their best quarters for the year with a 5.4 final quarter taking the margin to 88 points. In a big win you have lots of good players but particular mention is to be made of Mitch Mead who played his best game for the club, Harry Morgan with 4 goals and Nick Moore who was a strong forward target all day. We now commence the back half of the season and the challenge is to continue raising our performance each week.
Congratulations to the Jade and the league side as they also continue to perform well setting high standards for us to follow. Looking forward to seeing as many Eagles supporters as possible down at Noarlunga this weekend.
